From Takayama to Gero Onsen
Gero Onsen's history spans 1,000 years. Legend has it that the hot spring was found after an injured egret informed people of it. It is one of the three most famous hot-springs in Japan along with Kusatsu and Arima. The hot spring with the characteristics of being clear/colorless and mild in nature is very popular among women as "hot water for beautiful skin" because it is mild to skin and makes skin slick and smooth as silk. The type of water is a simple alkaline mineral water, and it is said that it is effective for rheumatism, motility disorder, neurotic disease, nerve palsy, and recovery from illness or physical exhaustion.
