User Guide for Highway and Limited Express Buses

  • Tickets are sold until 15 minutes before departure, but please purchase them early. Please note that even if you have a ticket, if you do not arrive at the boarding point by the departure time, your seat may be given to another passenger.
  • To change or cancel a ticket, please complete the procedure at the counter where you purchased the ticket before the departure time of your reserved bus. Once the departure time has passed, the ticket becomes invalid, and no changes or refunds will be possible. Please note that procedures cannot be handled over the phone.
  • One “infant” (under 6 years old) per accompanying passenger is free of charge. However, even for infants, a child fare will be charged if they occupy a seat.
Additionally, if the bus is full, we may have to refuse boarding for infants without a seat due to vehicle capacity limits. We recommend paying the child fare and using a seat for infant passengers.
  • Highway and limited express buses are operated jointly. Please note that the operating company varies depending on the route and schedule. Furthermore, extra buses may be operated by different companies.
  • Regulations regarding pets vary by operating company. Please contact the office of each operating company before boarding.
  • Underfloor trunks are available, but items may be refused depending on their size. Please contact the office of each operating company before boarding.
  • Arrival times may be delayed due to road conditions (accidents, traffic congestion, extreme weather, etc.). Please be aware that fare refunds will not be provided in the event of delays.

Precautions for Bus Passengers

Handling of Baggage

  • Highway buses and some limited express buses have a trunk room under the vehicle body.
Please load and unload your baggage by yourself. (Staff may assist in some cases.)
  • Do not place valuables, fragile items, or perishables in the trunk.
  • Stored baggage may be moved or have other passengers’ items stacked on top. The company assumes no liability for damage, staining, or loss of baggage under any circumstances. Please also be careful not to take the wrong luggage.

Pets and Animals

  • In principle, small animals are not allowed on all highway and limited express bus routes. However, they may be permitted on certain routes if kept in a cage. Please contact us for details.
Service dogs (guide, mobility, and hearing dogs) are exempt from these restrictions.
  • Live animals cannot be placed in the undercarriage trunk room.

Onboard Safety

  • Buses may apply emergency brakes due to surrounding conditions. Please remain seated at all times.
  • When disembarking, do not leave your seat until the bus has come to a complete stop and the doors have opened.
  • For your safety, please wear your seatbelt when riding a highway bus.

Prohibited Items and Actions

  • Smoking is prohibited inside the bus.
  • Please set your mobile phone to silent mode and refrain from making calls while on board.
  • It is prohibited to bring hazardous materials, large quantities of matches, sulfur, corrosive substances, unsanitary items, malodorous items, or anything that may pose a danger or nuisance to other passengers onto the bus.
