Located about a 5-minute walk from Hida Furukawa Station, the Hida Furukawa Festival Exhibition Hall offers a year-round experience of the Furukawa Festival, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The hall permanently displays three real Furukawa Festival floats. You can also experience operating the karakuri dolls and try out the okoshi-daiko drums. Furthermore, exhibits on Hida Furukawa’s festival culture and “Yobihiki” are now available, and you can try the “Tombo” experience.

Approximately a 1-minute walk from the Hida Furukawa Festival Exhibition Hall.

This structure, built by local carpenters inheriting the skills of Hida’s master craftsmen and using wood from the “Land of Wood” Hida, is remarkable for its construction without a single nail.

Under the eaves facing the courtyard, small brackets adorned with the “cloud” crest, the emblem of the carpenters involved in the construction of this building, are lined up.

The hall features displays of various joinery techniques and wood assemblies, along with an interactive area where you can try your hand at assembling a staggered lattice pattern, just like a puzzle.

Come and see and experience firsthand the high level of skill of Hida’s craftsmen.

Approximately 1,000 koi swim in the Seto River, which flows through the Shirakabe Dozogai (white-walled storehouse district), and you can experience feeding them from May to mid-October.
