Depart Takayama Nohi Bus terminal (Platform 1, bound for Gero Onsen)
Get off at the Shimomiyada bus stop.
After getting off, we’ll head to the “Moriyama Shrine’s Weeping Cherry Tree”!
This large weeping cherry tree (Shidarezakura) is 100 years old and 15 meters tall. Its size is such that it covers the entire Moriyama Shrine grounds.
This giant cherry tree is approximately 120 years old, 20 meters tall, and has a trunk circumference of 2.6 meters. It stands on the hillside, its blossoms cascading down as if to cover passersby. Looking up from directly below, it feels like you’re taking a cherry blossom shower.
The cherry tree next to the temple’s bell tower is said to be 350 years old.
This park along the Hida River is home to approximately 350 delicate cherry trees in bloom. The park is also adorned with flowers such as daffodils and tulips, adding to the seasonal beauty. From this park, head towards National Route 41 (approx. 5-minute walk) to reach Kudu Hachimangu Shrine.
