Itinerary

  • Takayama Nohi Bus terminal 9:05am(Platform 1, bound for Gero Onsen) 

    Depart Takayama Nohi Bus terminal  (Platform 1, bound for Gero Onsen)

  • Arrive at Shimomiyada Bus Stop

    Get off at the Shimomiyada bus stop.
    After getting off, we’ll head to the “Moriyama Shrine’s Weeping Cherry Tree”!

  • Moriyama Shrine's Weeping Cherry Tree (approx. 15-minute walk from Shimomiyada Bus Stop)

    This large weeping cherry tree (Shidarezakura) is 100 years old and 15 meters tall. Its size is such that it covers the entire Moriyama Shrine grounds.

  • Iwataro's Weeping Cherry Tree (approx. 20-minute walk from Moriyama Shrine)

    This giant cherry tree is approximately 120 years old, 20 meters tall, and has a trunk circumference of 2.6 meters. It stands on the hillside, its blossoms cascading down as if to cover passersby. Looking up from directly below, it feels like you’re taking a cherry blossom shower.

  • Eiyo-ji Temple's Weeping Cherry Tree (approx. 10-minute walk from Iwataro's Weeping Cherry Tree)

    The cherry tree next to the temple’s bell tower is said to be 350 years old.

  • Hakuou Shrine's Cherry Tree (approx. 30-minute walk from Eiyo-ji Temple)

  • Miyadani's Cherry Tree (approx. 30-minute walk from Hakuou Shrine)

  • Hida River Park Cherry Blossoms (approx. 20-minute walk from Miyadani's Cherry Tree)

    This park along the Hida River is home to approximately 350 delicate cherry trees in bloom. The park is also adorned with flowers such as daffodils and tulips, adding to the seasonal beauty. From this park, head towards National Route 41 (approx. 5-minute walk) to reach Kudu Hachimangu Shrine.

  • 2:20 PM: Depart Kutsu Hachimangu Bus Stop (bound for Takayama Bus Terminal)

  • Arrive at Takayama Nohi Bus Terminal at 3:29 PM
