A guide well experienced in the Mount Norikura area will guide you to Gonoike (2,717m above sea level). The tour will take about 4 hours and walk about 5 km.
*Lunch Box will be served when the tour starts so please make sure to have a backpack to put it.
GONOIKE ~The unknown world of Norikura-Only viewable for a limited time~
At the summit of the Mount Norikura, there lies a volcanic lake created by ancient volcanic activity. Go-no-ike is a mysterious swamp that is a very rare sight. Just like the name suggests, there are five beautiful surfaces of the swamp that can be seen right in the middle of a plain, charming everyone who comes by it. The plants and flowers that bloom for just an instant and the vast scenery that changes frequently are just a few of the charms of this sight that make one think that it is the land of the sky. Come and experience an unforgettable sight and be in awe of the other side of mountain trekking! A guide experienced in showing you around Mount Norikura will accompany you during the trek.
It’s free to explore and relax in Norikura until taking a return bus.
During Mt. Norikuradake’s short summer, from mid-July to mid-August, the alpine plants will be in full bloom all around the flower gardens. As the wooden hiking trail makes walking easier, everyone can enjoy hiking.

Takayama Bus Terminal Tour Information
Mt. Norikuradake is located at the southern edge of the Northern Alps (Hida Mountains) and is the collective name for the mountains with the highest peak of Mt. Kengamine (3,026 m). It includes 23 peaks, 7 lakes and 8 plains, and the foot of the mountains lies between Takayama City and Matsumoto City.
This is an attractive tourist spot where you can enjoy hiking around the flower garden with blooming alpine plants or climbing a 3,000-m mountain casually.

This is a 9 km, three hour hiking course that connects Magome Juku and Tsumago Juku.
Participants can enjoy the simple scenery and nature of the cobblestone streets and tea shops along the path that many SAMURAI traveled long ago.

This is a plan that departs from Takayama/Gero and connects to Nakatsugawa with a stop at the Magome/Tsumago area.
The distance between Magome(馬籠) and Tsumago(妻籠) (9 km, approximately 3 hour) can be enjoyed while taking a walk through the Nakasendo.
