Please arrive at the Takayama Nohi Bus Center Tour Desk (located next to JR Takayama Station) at least 15 minutes before departure.
Board the bus bound for Shinhotaka Ropeway at Bus Stop No. 5.

It takes about 30 minutes from Takayama Nohi Bus Center to the “Syonyudo-guchi” bus stop.
From there, please transfer to the dedicated free shuttle bus.

Located halfway between Hida Takayama and the Okuhida Hot Spring Village, the Hida Great Limestone Cave is one of Japan’s premier tourist caves, stretching approximately 800 meters.
At an altitude of 900 meters, it is the highest tourist cave in Japan!
The temperature inside remains around 12°C (54°F) year-round.

*No need for special gear or helmets. You can explore in your everyday clothes!

*Umbrellas are required on rainy days.

The Hida Great Limestone Cave is divided into three sections (Sections 1 to 3).
Each section has its own exit. Please note that the path beyond the 2nd exit becomes quite steep.
For those with leg or back issues, or those concerned about their physical stamina, we recommend leaving via the 1st or 2nd exit.

Estimated Walking Times (from the entrance):

To the 1st Exit: Approx. 10 min.

To the 2nd Exit: Approx. 20 min.

To the 3rd Exit: Approx. 30 min.

Please take any bus bound for Shinhotaka at your preferred time and head to Hirayu Onsen.
