Visit Hida Folk Village (1 hour)
Located just a short distance from downtown Hida Takayama, Hida Folk Village (Hida no Sato) is an open-air museum featuring traditional thatched-roof houses, including carefully relocated and precious Gassho-style dwellings.
Stepping inside reveals a rich, beautiful landscape of classic Japan, offering an evocative atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time.
Visit Hikaru Museum (1 hour 10 minutes)
The Hikaru Museum features a striking, unique architectural design reminiscent of a Mayan pyramid.
Stepping inside reveals a grand, open exhibition space spanning from the underground to the upper floors.
The museum houses a wide-ranging collection, including masterworks of Japanese and Western painting, as well as global archaeological artifacts, fossils, and natural history exhibits on both permanent and special display.
